Israelis are headed to the polls on September 17th – for the second time this year. And we in Canada have our elections just a month later. What’s in store following these upcoming elections?

The last round of Israeli elections in April were worrying for liberal supporters of Israel. We witnessed disturbing, anti-democratic trends. Attempts to pass anti-democratic legislation and talks of annexation followed.

And now, Israelis have a chance to choose a different path forward. What are Israelis going to choose? How is the pro-democracy camp preparing for the day after? And what common issues face progressive Jews around the world, including in Canada?

At the 9th Annual Shira Herzog Symposium, leaders from NIFC-funded partners in Israel will share their analyses and strategies with us. Meet inspiring Israeli leaders on the ground who fight for democracy every day, before and after Election Day.
