In-person attendance
When is check-in/registration?
12:30 PM – please arrive early to give yourself time to register. The conference will start at 1:00 pm sharp!
New Gen ticket holders are invited to a happy hour on Saturday the 13th at 3:00-5:00 pm (info here).
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes, in-person tickets will be available for purchase day-of at registration: $5 for New Gen attendees and $20 for General attendees. Payment will be accepted by credit card or cash (exact amount only, no change provided).
Online registration for in-person tickets will be closed after Friday, April 12th at 1:00 pm. Virtual tickets will continue to be available through the weekend.
How do I get there? Where can I park?
The conference is at the Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Downtown hotel, located at 475 Yonge Street. The hotel is just one block north of Yonge and College, and is accessible by public transit, with the College subway station nearby. The hotel entrance is off Wood Street.
If you’re driving, there are parking lots are within a couple blocks of the hotel:
- Parksmart Parking, 28 Wood St, Toronto, ON M4Y 2P9
- Parksmart Parking, 33 Alexander St, Toronto, ON M4Y 1B2
Is food or drink provided?
We will be providing coffee and tea during a break from 3:45 to 4:15 PM. The hotel also has a small cafe with sandwiches and drinks available for purchase after 3 PM.
Can I switch to virtual attendance? Will I get a refund?
Yes, you can switch – please email info@nifcan.org. Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued.

Will I get to choose between workshops?
Yes. There will be breakout rooms on Zoom for each workshop, and you’ll join the breakout room of your choice.
Will I be able to participate in Q & A online?
Yes, in the workshops, you’ll be able to submit questions through Zoom. There is no question period in the opening or closing sessions.
When will I be sent the Zoom link?
You’ll be sent the link on Friday. If you register after Friday, the Zoom link will be included in your confirmation email.
Is anything happening online during the “coffee/tea break”?
No – this is a good opportunity for you to take a break and get a snack at home, too.
