Congratulations to Joan Garson for being named a Member of the Order of Canada for her “leadership and governance of numerous non-profit organizations within Jewish communities across Canada and around the world.”
Joan has held many leadership roles with local and international organizations, including as President and Board Member of NIFC from 2009-2020. Joan was also the recipient of NIFC’s first Shira Herzog Award and is a member of our Founders’ Circle, compromised of people who made early and significant commitments to NIFC in their wills.
As a tireless and committed community leader, Joan has made a lasting mark on NIFC. This honour could not be more well-deserved.
