Join Us for a Special Shabbat & Pre-Reception
As part of Temple Emanu-El’s “Special Shabbat” services on September 27th and “Peace Days,” we are proud to bring Raghad Jaraisy, Co-Director of NIFC-funded partner Sikkuy-Aufoq.
Join other NIFC supporters for pre-services reception with light refreshments, followed by Kabbalat Shabbat services and a special presentation by Raghad Jaraisy.
Raghad will share her insights on the critical role of civil society in promoting equality and human rights amidst Israel’s current challenges. Sikkuy-Aufoq is a shared Jewish and Arab nonprofit organization that works to advance equality and partnership between the Arab-Palestinian and Jewish citizens of Israel. An attorney with over a decade of experience in human rights law, Raghad’s expertise in equality policies and deep commitment to social justice make her a powerful voice in the pursuit of an inclusive society.
This event is hosted by Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom in cooperation with the New Israel Fund of Canada and part of Peace Days, an annual initiative by the Peace Network for Social Harmony founded by Temple member Brian Bronfman. Peace Days brings together diverse community, cultural, and educational partners in the Montreal region to inspire concrete actions for peace. This year’s theme is “Peace Days: Working Together for an Inclusive Society.”
Please register below to attend the Pre-Reception (registration is not required to attend Shabbat services only).
