Wednesday, April 17th
Temple Sholom, 7190 Oak Street, Vancouver
Featuring Gil Murciano, Iran expert and CEO of Mitvim
and Uri Weltmann, National Field Organizer of Standing Together
The horrific terror attacks perpetrated by Hamas on October 7th and the ensuing Israel-Hamas war have brought anguish, pain, and despair to two nations already mired in conflict.
At a time when concerned Canadians desperately seek alternatives to the conventional wisdom of endless terrorism and occupation, the New Israel Fund of Canada brings to Vancouver two civil society leaders with better answers: the foreign policy experts of Mitvim – The Israeli Institute for Regional Foreign Policies and the Jewish-Arab grassroots movement of Standing Together.
What did – and didn’t – change about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict after October 7th and the Gaza war? Is US President Biden’s push for a two-state solution realistic? Is Jewish-Palestinian cooperation even possible? How do the Arab nations of the Abraham Accords factor in? And where can Canada help?
Join us to hear from Gil Murciano, Iran expert and CEO of Mitvim, Uri Weltmann, national organizer of Standing Together, and Temple Sholom moderator Maayan Kreitzman about how Israel can navigate the current quagmire to a political solution for a more peaceful, shared future for Israelis and Palestinians alike.
Co-presented by Temple Sholom.
