Tisha B’Av is the most solemn day in the Jewish calendar — one of intentional mourning and reflection. It provides an opportunity to contemplate themes of destruction, redemption, and the pursuit of social justice.
As young diaspora Jews, we’ll hold space to talk about the complexities of our experiences in the present moment:
• What does it mean to be a young diaspora Jew?
• Do we relate to Israel? If so, how?
• What’s our responsibility to Israel and Palestine, if any?
• What’s our responsibility to the pursuit of social justice?
Join NIFC New Generations on Wednesday, August 14th, to wrestle with these questions in Christie Pits park. There will be food, discussion, a bit of ritual, and most of all, community.
Advance registration is now closed but please join us in Christie Pits tonight and register when you arrive — we’ll be near the covered picnic tables.
