New Gen Community Seder

April 8 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Bathurst and St. Clair (exact address provided upon registration)

The New Gen Leadership Council would like to invite our community to a seder on Wednesday, April 8th, just before the end of Passover. In this moment of worry and sadness, let us be together in community, read the story of liberation and justice, offer our hopes and our reflections, and renew our commitment to help those who are vulnerable.

This community seder is raising funds for Bimkom: Planners for Planning Rights, an organization that works with unrecognized Bedouin communities in the Negev. As missiles continue to fall in Israel, millions of Israelis seek shelter in nearby bomb shelters, often multiple times a day. But many Israelis do not have access to bomb shelters – a recent survey found that 46% of Palestinian citizens of Israel have no access to a shelter. Especially at risk are the Bedouin citizens of Israel who live in unrecognized villages in the Negev, fully exposed to missile fire. NIFC’s partner Bimkom is working urgently to press the government to extend alerts, shelters, and other critical resources to these vulnerable communities.

As we gather to read a story of our people seeking safety and freedom, we are thinking of those who don’t have shelter, who are facing violence, and who are not free.

This will be an inclusive and participatory gathering. All are welcome.

Kosher vegan dinner and wine will be provided.

This event is Pay-What-You-Can with a minimum suggested contribution of $18. Please enter the amount you would like to contribute into the “Additional donation” field. All funds will be directed towards NIFC’s project with Bimkom and will be issued a tax receipt.

This event is now full.
