The New Israel Fund is proud to serve as the main sponsor of The People’s Peace Summit in Jerusalem later this month and to serve as a partner in the coalition committed to building a shared future for all.  The summit itself will occur late at night for us in North America, so we’re bringing its leaders and organizers to you to give you a taste of the ideas and the energy driving the revitalization of a long dream.

SPEAKERS: 

Sally Abed is an elected city council representative of Haifa and a national leader at Standing Together, the Jewish-Arab grassroots movement that mobilizes people around issues of peace, equality and social justice. In recent years, she has become a prominent progressive Palestinian voice in Israel. Sally is a recurring guest on the Promised Podcast and the Co-host of the new podcast Groundwork – a mini series about Palestinians and Jews refusing to accept the status quo and working together for change.

Eran Nissan is the CEO of Mehazkim, and an Israeli peace activist. Prior to joining Mehazkim, Eran headed the education & advocacy department at Peace Now, and has interned at the US Congress as part of ‘New Story Leadership.’ Eran has a BA in Political Science & Philosophy from Ben Gurion University, and is currently working on an MA in Emergency & Disaster Management at Tel Aviv University.
