Toronto Jewish Film Festival: Q&A with Comrade Dov Director Barak Heymann

2 June 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join Comrade Dov director and NIF International Council member Barak Heymann for an online Q&A on Tuesday, June 2nd at 3pm Eastern.

About the film:
Goddamned Communist. Internal enemy. Privileged Tel Aviv Ashkenazi. Dov Khenin has been called almost everything during his thirteen-year tenure as Member of Knesset for the Jewish-Arab party ‘Hadash’. His advocacy of socialist and democratic values harken back to the ideals that helped build the nation, but they also make him the enemy of powerful detractors. Director Barak Heymann (winner of the David A. Stein Award for Lone Samaritan) has followed Khenin throughout his thirteen years in parliament, creating a film that examines the wounds of contemporary Israeli society. Comrade Dov is a surprising, thought-provoking portrait of a unique politician who refuses to give up.
